I urge everyone with a stake in tourism to attend this meeting.  I feel that the tax increase is a done deal but the taxes we collect from our sales should be used to increase our sales and not to finance the library, senior center or fisheries commission.  This will in turn increase not only the tax revenue collected but sales to the industry, employment and a better quality of life for all.  Mayor Kirk does not recognize the extent of the tourism economy or the potential it has.  It is up to us to show her.  

This is your chance to be heard.  Some of you have expressed an aversion to getting on the administration's bad side, but this is not a confrontation.  You do not have to say anything at the meeting, just be present.  We are here to offer solutions not complaints.
